St Mary’s Church grounds
Eccelsfield church is home to some beautiful gardens that are flourishing with life and
gorgeous flowers. The church gardens are in full view to passers-by and many even venture
into the church grounds to take a look at the beauty. Many people are drawn in to the church
grounds as it is such a perfect place to enjoy a peaceful walk or to sit down and clear your
Everybody is welcome into the church gardens and into the church itself, indeed many take
the opportunity to research family ancestry and the local history. The church has been home
to many weddings and baptisms, where stunning photographs have been taken in the
gardens. However, none of this would be possible without the help of volunteers from the
local community/church members. People join together twice a week to maintain the
gardens and keep everything looking pristine.

The times and days are Tuesday 14:00-16:00 and Saturday 10:00 to 12:00.
If you have any time available to help, you would be very welcome, all tools are provided,
you just need to bring along some gloves. Jobs vary and can fit anyone of any age or ability.

For more information or questions please contact Pat Wood on 01142465086
St Mary’s is not ‘wheelchair friendly’ as there are steps on all entrances.
Ramps are available and every assistance will be given to enable access using
them. However the ramps may not be suitable for all wheelchair or scooter users,
please contact us if you have concerns regarding access.
